Also, they didn't even park within the lines! |
I REGULARLY FIND a scene like the one pictured here in my apartment parking garage: some inconsiderate jerk parked in a handicapped parking space without a proper permit. And without fail, it is ALWAYS a high-end vehicle, whether the Porsche Cayenne shown here, or a Lincoln SUV, or in one instance, a HUMMER.
I loathe these people. I always take photos and send them to apartment management, who assure me they will address the issue. I'm not convinced they will.
The temptation to take matters into my own hands is overcome only by the fact a security camera is very close by. Apparently the camera is not used to enforce handicapped parking, but it would probably be referenced should I, say, smash out their windows or slash their tires. While extreme, I think this is an entirely appropriate response to, you know, DENYING PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY ACCESS TO A SPACE RESERVED FOR THEM.
While trying to find a better way to shame these insufferable a-holes, I came across this free app, which would be great if I owned a smart-phone. I will continue to fight the good fight as the AMLI Lindbergh Luxury Apartments* last defender of handicapped access parking spaces.
Any advice you all have to offer on how I can vandalize their vehicles and get away with it would be most appreciated.**
*They're not really luxury apartments. They are nice though. Except when they're being shot at.
**For the record, I would never commit the crime of vandalism because vigilante retaliation is wrong.

There's a lot of debate these past few months about whether the rich are paying their fair share in taxes. What's sometimes overlooked is that we middle-class folks pay a disproportionate share.
Russia is taking another step toward reverting to a neo-Soviet state, by renaming a city for history's worst mass-murderer. What a country!
Speaking of Russia, did you know there was a family living in the remotest part of Siberia that was cut off from the rest of civilization for four decades, and they didn't even know World War II had happened?
